The Vibe

Walking into this spot delivers that classic Italian restaurant vibe that makes you feel right at home—the dining room was filled with family dinners all around, and the "2025" sign was a great touch. The star of the night was Sal. He is the absolute man—the guy literally picked up a guitar and played happy birthday for the room. What a legend! The owner is a total gentleman, the wine pairing was exquisite, and the table bread with oil was a certified 10/10. Plus, apparently, Robert De Niro liked the parm here back in the day, so thanks for the legendary company, Sal!

The Parm

This dish brings that beautiful, melt-in-your-mouth texture. It is packed with good, solid flavor that absolutely does the job. Our main critique was the build—the cutlet was a tad on the thin side, to the point where we easily could have crushed a second one. The side pasta was just fine but didn't stand out, and while the sausage appetizer was absolutely delightful, the rest of the starters were just okay and hit the table a bit too salty. Come on, Sal! To finish it off, the tiramisu was incredible, though the cheesecake was a bit "different" and didn't quite land the same way.

The Highs and Lows

  • The Positives:

    • Melt-in-your-mouth chicken texture with excellent flavor.

    • Legendary tableside hospitality from Sal, guitar performance included.

    • A flawless 10/10 bread and oil setup to start the meal.

    • The sausage appetizer and the tiramisu were both absolute highlights.

    • Exquisite, spot-on wine pairings.

    • Classic, warm, and highly authentic family-style dining atmosphere.

  • The Negatives:

    • The cutlet was noticeably thin and left us wanting a bigger portion.

    • The appetizers outside of the sausage were highly oversalted.

    • The broccoli rabe left a lot to be desired.

    • The side pasta was incredibly average.

    • The bill ran a bit on the expensive side.

Closing Thoughts

D’Angelo’s serves up an unforgettable night of classic Italian charm, elite hospitality, and a flavor-packed, melt-in-your-mouth cutlet. If the kitchen can beef up the thickness of the chicken, dial back the salt on the starters, and elevate the side pasta, they will easily have an 8-plus heavyweight on their hands. But for the vibe, the music, and the history, Sal and the crew run a beautiful operation.
