The Vibe

We headed over to Manayunk for this run, and right off the bat, the parking was surprisingly easy. The dining room itself didn't quite hit that classic, cozy Italian restaurant vibe we usually look for—especially since they sat us at a high-top table. Our server was nice, and the service was actually rolling along great... until the main course arrived and we realized we had zero forks on the table. Can I get a fork or naw?

Starters-wise, the table bread was nice, and the meatball and ricotta app was quality stuff. The calamari, on the other hand, was a bit odd and desperately needed a good dipping sauce. On a historic note, this was the legendary night the "Cannoli Trio" was officially born. Get ready for the after-parties!

The Parm

The parm itself was cooked incredibly well—a thick-cut bone-in chop (and yes, I love holding onto the bone). It was crispy but not overly crunchy, and the texture was wonderful. While the cheese-to-sauce ratio was solid, the dish was a bit light on the sauce, and the sauce they did provide was honestly pretty mid.

But then we hit the side pasta. These were some of the absolute best buttered noodles we have ever had on the side of a parm dish—”nice noods.” Unfortunately, the post-game was a bit rough. One of the boys ended up locked in the bathroom for 15 minutes after the feast. Was it the bone? Was it the chicken? Do they cook with seed oils? The jury is still out, but it definitely left a memorable impression.

The Highs and Lows

  • The Positives:

    • Thick-cut, bone-in chicken cooked to crispy perfection.

    • The absolute best buttered side noodles of any parm dish yet.

    • Quality meatball and ricotta appetizer.

    • Super easy parking situation.

    • The historic birth of the Cannoli Trio.

  • The Negatives:

    • The red sauce was lacking in quantity and tasted pretty mid.

    • The server completely forgot to bring out forks for the main course.

    • High-top seating and a non-traditional, non-Italian atmosphere.

    • The calamari was odd and lacked a proper dip.

    • A rough, 15-minute emergency bathroom aftermath.

Closing Thoughts

TAKE ME TO PARM TOWN! ON THE QUEST FOR THE BEST, THE CANNOLI TRIO HAS SPOKEN!

Mia Ragazza brings a uniquely thick, crispy bone-in cutlet to the table paired with elite-tier buttered noodles. If they can swap the high-tops for proper tables, remember the forks, and elevate the flavor of their red sauce, they have some serious powerhouse potential here.

PARM BOYS OUT!
